Amaravati: In response to reports of the spread of the new Covid variant JN-1, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review at the camp office in Tadepalli. Emphasizing the need for advanced measures, the CM directed officials to ensure unhindered treatment. Despite officials indicating no cause for alarm and noting that patients are recovering without hospitalization, they highlighted JN-1’s rapid expansion characteristic. Testing for symptomatic individuals is being conducted in government hospitals.
Samples are under examination at the Vijayawada Genome Lab, and officials have deployed Rapid testing kits at village and ward secretariats. Personal care kits and essential medicines are available in hospitals. The government is proactively addressing oxygen infrastructure needs, operating PSA plants for immediate use, and stocking oxygen concentrators and D-type cylinders. A total of 56,741 oxygen beds have been prepared, according to officials.
