Malladi Vishnu, the incumbent MLA of Vijayawada Central constituency, has been appointed as the president of the YSR Congress Party in Vijayawada City. This responsibility was handed over to him by party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, replacing Boppana Bhavakumar, who is reportedly set to join the Telugu Desam Party.
Malladi Vishnu emerged victorious in the 2019 general elections from the Vijayawada Central constituency, defeating Bonda Umamaheswara by a narrow margin. Following his election win, he assumed the role of chairman of the Brahmin Corporation. Additionally, Vishnu currently serves as the vice-chairman of the Planning Commission and will now serve as the YSRCP city party president.
