Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh CID has issued fresh summons to former MP Vijayasai Reddy in connection with allegations of illegal transfer of shares related to Kakinada Seaport and SEZ. He has been asked to appear for questioning on March 25 at the CID office in Mangalagiri.
Earlier, the CID had interrogated Vijayasai Reddy for nearly five hours at its Vijayawada office. Officials had informed him during the session that further questioning would be required.
The case was registered based on a complaint by KV Rao, head of Kakinada Seaport Private Limited. Vijayasai Reddy has been named as Accused No. 2 (A2) in the case, along with four others.
The investigation revolves around alleged irregularities in the transfer of shares and financial transactions linked to the seaport. CID officials are scrutinizing documents and financial records to establish the extent of the violations.
Sources indicate that Vijayasai Reddy may be questioned about his role in the alleged deal and his association with the other accused. The authorities are also probing whether due process was followed in the transactions.
With fresh summons issued, it remains to be seen how Vijayasai Reddy responds and whether he will cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
