The SOT police have confirmed the arrest of renowned choreographer Johnny Master in Goa. According to authorities, Master was taken into custody and presented before a Goa court under a production warrant. He will be transferred to Hyderabad, where he is scheduled to appear before the Upparpally Court tomorrow.
Johnny Master faces charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with allegations of rape. Police have also recorded the victim’s statement as part of the ongoing investigation.
The complaint, filed by a young woman, details various allegations against Master. She stated that she first met Johnny Master in 2017 and joined his group as an assistant choreographer in 2019. During a film shoot in Mumbai, she alleges that Master assaulted her in a hotel and subsequently threatened to remove her from his group and prevent her from working in the film industry if she spoke out.
The victim further accused Johnny Master of repeatedly assaulting her and behaving inappropriately on several occasions, including incidents during film shoots in the vanity van. She also alleged that in one instance, when she refused his advances, Master physically assaulted her by grabbing her hair and smashing her against a mirror.
The woman stated that she eventually left the group due to the harassment but claimed that Master continued to obstruct her professional opportunities, making it difficult for her to find work in the industry. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
