Actor Naga Babu Konidela, who is the brother of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Janasena Party president Pawan Kalyan, stoked up a massive controversy within the Mega family and among its supporters when he came up with a cryptic post on the ‘X’ platform, expressing the opinion that a person who is close to them yet joins hands with a rival cannot be trusted and considered as their kin, but an outsider who stands by them will be considered a close one.
Even though Naga Babu didn’t directly name anyone, many inferred that he was indirectly targeting Mega Hero Allu Arjun, who openly supported YSRCP MLA candidate Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy during the recent elections. Naga Babu’s controversial post immediately triggered huge backlash from Allu Arjun’s fans and also turned out to be a big talking point among political circles and in the film industry.
Though Allu Arjun’s visit to his friend’s house two days before polling evoked mixed reactions from Pawan Kalyan’s fans, no political bigwig from either Janasena or TDP and none from Tollywood expressed their opinion about his gesture. But Naga Babu’s post appeared to be aimed at Allu Arjun’s double standards. As Allu Arjun’s fans started targeting Naga Babu on X through abuses, the former deactivated his X account for a couple days.
Surprisingly, Naga Babu returned to X and posted that he deleted the controversial tweet. While many believe that Naga Babu deleted the post only because of pressure from Allu Arjun’s fans, it is reliably heard that both Chiru and Pawan Kalyan are behind the removal of the controversial tweet.
Close sources to the Mega family revealed that Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan asked Naga Babu to delete the post because it may lead to unnecessary friction between the Mega and Allu families and also between the fans of the actors of the two families. Naga Babu reportedly conveyed that he had not intended to target Allu Arjun but was only referring to the traitors who were backstabbing the Janasena party.
