The Sankranti festival is the most significant season for Telugu cinema. Every hero strives to have their film in the Sankranti race, which is why competition is intense every year. This Sankranti, however, the highly acclaimed actor Chiranjeevi’s film Vishwambhar was expected to be part of the lineup. The makers announced that the film would be released on January 10, coinciding with the festival.
However, recent reports suggest that Vishwambhara may not be in the Sankranti race after all. The film, which features a socio-fantasy storyline, still has pending VFX work, and the OTT deal has not been finalized, prompting the makers to consider withdrawing the film from the Sankranti lineup. An official announcement regarding this is expected soon. Directed by Vashishta Mallidi, the film is produced by UV Creations. Alongside Chiranjeevi, actresses Trisha Krishnan and Ashika Ranganath will play lead roles, with Kunal Kapoor, Ramya Pasupuletti, and Eesha Chawla in supporting roles. The film’s music is being composed by renowned music director M.M. Keeravani.
