In what could be a ‘Crowning Glory’ to his illustrious career and the highest recognition for his selfless social service through various philanthropic activities, Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi has been conferred with the second highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan.
In his career spanning over 40 years, Chiranjeevi scaled dizzy heights with his acting mettle and received numerous honours. Besides emerging as a Superstar who won millions of hearts, Chiranjeevi proved to be a Good Samaritan on numerous occasions with his charitable activities. He launched many social activities and helped the needy during dire circumstances.
Chiranjeevi was previously awarded Padma Bhushan in 2006. He won an honorary doctorate in the same year from Andhra University. He also won numerous awards for his iconic performances in his films.
Reacting to this huge achievement, Chiranjeevi released a video message to all his fans, followers and well-wishers expressing his gratitude for their support and love all these years. He also thanked the government of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing his services.
On the eve of Republic Day, the government of India has announced the list of Padma Awards bestowed on 132 personalities from various fields for their distinguished services. The list comprises 5 Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan and 110 Padma Shri awardees.
