The pre-release event of Laila, starring Vishwak Sen, took place in Hyderabad, with Megastar Chiranjeevi attending as the chief guest. Directed by Ram Narayan and produced by Sahu Garapati, the film is set for a grand release on February 14.
Addressing the gathering, Chiranjeevi praised Vishwak Sen’s perspective on the industry’s unity. Recalling a recent interaction, he said, “Vishwak was asked, ‘You belong to Balakrishna’s camp, so why are you here with Chiranjeevi?’ To this, he smartly replied, ‘My house has a compound, but the film industry doesn’t.’ I truly appreciate that thought. Why shouldn’t admiration and respect exist across the industry?”
The Megastar reflected on past fan rivalries, sharing a personal anecdote. “In my childhood, I saw my own cousins—one an NTR fan, the other an ANR fan—get into a fight so intense that they bled. That made me realize that while actors share great camaraderie, fans often assume otherwise. This belief shaped my commitment to fostering unity in the industry.”
Speaking about relationships among actors, Chiranjeevi recalled the era of *Honey House* in Madras, where Telugu and Tamil stars would celebrate together. “I have always shared a great bond with Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and Balakrishna. Recently, I attended Balakrishna’s 50-year industry celebration, and I frequently meet Nagarjuna as well.”
Stressing the importance of supporting fellow actors, he said, “Labeling someone as an outsider is wrong. Vishwak Sen is part of the industry, part of our family. We should celebrate each other’s successes. Today, when Pawan Kalyan appeared in the AV, the crowd erupted. That’s something to take pride in, just as I celebrate Pushpa 2 becoming a blockbuster.”
Highlighting the industry’s economic cycle, Chiranjeevi noted, “A film’s success directly benefits thousands of families. The money earned here is reinvested into the industry. Producer Sahu Garapati has made three films and is now reinvesting in another. Even the advances I receive come from the earnings of other films. That’s why we must function as a close-knit industry, supporting one another.”
With Laila gearing up for release, Chiranjeevi’s words resonated strongly, reinforcing the spirit of unity in Tollywood.
