TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu penned a letter to AP Governor Abdul Nazeer, raising concerns over the actions of CM Jagan’s government following the conclusion of elections in Andhra Pradesh. Naidu alleged that the government was poised to unlawfully expedite payments to its favored contractors, bypassing established protocols. Urging the Governor to intervene, Chandrababu emphasized the need to halt these transactions immediately. He accused CM Jagan of diverting funds meant for beneficiaries towards his own contractors, compromising the integrity of the process.
In his letter, Chandrababu highlighted a series of grievances. He cited instances where the state government had allegedly disregarded regulations by releasing funds to undisclosed contractors, both large-scale and benami, prior to the imposition of the election code of conduct. Naidu also pointed out delays in disbursing funds under DBT schemes, despite CM Jagan’s prior announcements. The Election Commission had sought explanations from the state government regarding this delay. Naidu further underscored financial mismanagement within the government, including reliance on overdrafts from banks, non-payment of retirement benefits such as PF and medical reimbursements, and pending dues to hospitals providing Aarogyasri services.
Additionally, he accused the government of diverting funds earmarked for panchayati raj through the Finance Commission, while concurrently acquiring substantial loans and issuing bonds. Naidu criticized the government’s prioritization of payments to favored contractors over fulfilling obligations to employees, panchayats, and hospitals under Aarogyasri.
