Amaravati: N. Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday for the exclusion or relocation of sitting MLAs belonging only to backward classes. The former Chief Minister questioned the selective removal or relocation of BC MLAs from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), while allowing those from the Reddy community to stand for re-election. Naidu’s remarks came in response to Jagan dropping 13 sitting MLAs in the two lists of candidates announced for the upcoming Assembly elections, with the ruling party declaring 35 candidates so far.

Speaking at a BCs meeting during the launch of the ‘Jayaho BCs’ campaign at the party headquarters, Naidu acknowledged his support among BC communities, expressing enduring gratitude for their steadfast support during challenging times. In a comparative statement, he asserted that, apart from four individuals from the Reddy community, others did not thrive under the YSRCP regime. The individuals he mentioned as exceptions were Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, MP Vijayasai Reddy, and party senior leader YV Subba Reddy.
