Nara Lokesh Likely to Take on Key Responsibilities in AP Cabinet

TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh has been entrusted with key responsibilities in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet by party chief N Chandrababu Naidu. It is understood that Naidu has decided to prioritize these responsibilities for Lokesh, who played a crucial role in the NDA’s victory. Before the elections, Lokesh embarked on a statewide padayatra, covering a significant distance.

However, Lokesh has stated that after the election victory, he intends to focus on party duties rather than joining the cabinet. Speaking to the media after the vote count, Lokesh mentioned that the party’s decision was a major setback for him, leading to considerable speculation about his role in the cabinet.

Party sources indicate that Chandrababu Naidu has decided to induct Lokesh into the cabinet. Naidu believes that Lokesh’s influence on key policy decisions and their implementation would be limited if he remains outside the cabinet. Previously, Lokesh held the portfolios of IT and Panchayati Raj. Party insiders suggest that he might be assigned even more significant responsibilities in the government this time.
