TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu pledged to personally ensure welfare pensions reach every household in Andhra Pradesh, announcing his intention to distribute them directly at people’s doorsteps. Speaking at a press conference in Nallajerla, East Godavari district, the former CM vowed to introduce a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 upon regaining power, with plans to initiate it from April onwards and clear dues for April, May, and June promptly.
Expressing concern over alleged fatalities among pensioners, Naidu accused YSRCP chief and CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy of orchestrating schemes endangering innocent lives. He urged Reddy to take accountability for these reported deaths, demanding his resignation, and criticized him for politicizing sensitive issues, even in the face of tragedy.
Chandraabu Naidu accused Reddy of exploiting his father’s demise for political gains and now attempting to leverage the pensioners’ situation for electoral advantage. Clarifying the Election Commission’s directive, Naidu emphasized that while pensions can still be delivered at homes, the use of volunteers for this task has been restricted. He affirmed his support for the volunteer system, which will continue under TDP governance.
