The Hyderabad police have filed charges against Joginipally Santosh Kumar, a leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former MP, for allegedly engaging in fraudulent activities and forgery related to a case of land acquisition. The complaint was lodged at the Banjara Hills police station, implicating Santosh Kumar, who is not only a former member of the Rajya Sabha but also the nephew of BRS President and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao. The case stems from allegations made by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited (NE

CL) concerning trespassing, conspiracy, and forgery in connection with its property in the affluent area of Banjara Hills. According to the company’s representative, NECL acquired 1,350 square yards of land in Banjara Hills back in 2010, and last year, it obtained a statement of encumbrance for the property. Recently, the company discovered that two structures had been erected on the land without its authorization. Upon investigation with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), it was revealed that property taxes were being paid by Santosh Kumar and Linga Sridhar Reddy for NECL’s premises, using falsified door numbers.
