Can Nani match Ram Charan and Allu Arjun ?

Tollywood top league actors, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun set a benchmark for rough characters with their stupendous performances in their blockbuster films, Rangasthalam and Pushpa: The Rise respectively. The loutish characters portrayed by them are used as references for comparison whenever other heroes play roles with similar character dynamics. Now, Natural Star Nani’s role in his upcoming film Dasara, a rustic entertainer set in the backdrop of Singareni Coal fields in Telangana, is drawing a comparison with those two iconic roles.

Going by the rushes in the trailers and teasers, posters, and interviews, it is clear that Dasara will see Nani playing an intense rugged character with unruly and boisterous mannerisms. His looks and body language are similar to that of Allu Arjun in Pushpa. And, the story appears to be a blend of village politics and love story, which is why there are comparisons with Rangasthalam. Meanwhile, Keerthi Suresh’s character in this film has shades akin to that of the female leads in those two films. So, there are comparisons galore between Dasara and those two rural dramas.

Nani’s performance is undoubtedly going to be the drawcard for Dasara. But, the question is can he match the career-best performances of Ram Charan and Allu Arjun in those two films? If he can deliver a power-packed outing as Dharani in this commercial potboiler and hold the story with his screen presence, there are big chances that Dasara will emerge as the biggest hit in his career and rejuvenate him. There is a strong buzz about the film among moviegoers. All it needs is just a positive word of mouth to keep the ticket windows ringing during the sultry season.

Directed by Srikanth Odhela, Dasara is slated for release on March 30th.
