The CAG report revealed that Telangana has incurred a debt of Rs. 4,03,664 crore in the last five years. The CAG stated that it had taken a loan of Rs. 49,618 crore from the public market in the year 2023-24. It said that the FRBM scope has increased by 200 percent in the last year. It revealed that the debt taken through various corporations was Rs. 2.20 lakh crore.
The CAG report revealed that Rs. 26,981 crore was spent on salaries. The CAG report on the Finance Accounts and Appropriation Accounts for the financial year 2023-24 was tabled in the assembly by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. In this, the budget estimate for 2023-24 was Rs. 2,77,690 crore, while the expenditure was Rs. 2,19,307 crore.

In 2023-24, payments of Rs. 76,776 crore were made to local bodies and other institutions, an increase of 11% due to the increase in funds by the government to local bodies and other institutions.
The CAG revealed that the government’s borrowing in 2022-24 was Rs. 53,144 crore. The expenditure was 79 percent of the budget estimate, and the expenditure was 33 percent of the estimates in addition to the approved budget, which was Rs. 1,11,477 crore, according to the CAG report.
