Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan and Tollywood’s pan-India star Prabhas are supposed to be involved in a box office slugfest on December 22nd as both their much anticipated upcoming projects ‘Dunki’ and ‘Salaar’ have been announced for release on the same day.
While the makers of Dunki booked the Christmas slot long back, Prabhas and his team also locked the same date for Salaar after it was postponed from September 28th due to production issues. Both films have been carrying mammoth expectations among trade circles and moviegoers. So, the epic clash is eagerly awaited from all quarters. However, it now seems like Shah Rukh Khan is going to back out from this clash.
As per the latest buzz in Bollywood media, the release date of Dunki might be pushed ahead due to the pending post-production activities. Though there is ample time for the completion of all activities, the makers of this Raj Kumar Hirani directional are pondering over avoiding a confrontation with Salaar. Hence, they want to project that the postponement is due to the delay in VFX works.
Reportedly, Dunki might now target Republic Day for a grand release. As Salaar is one of the highly anticipated action entertainers of the year, there will be humongous openings all over the country. So, the collections of Dunki might be impacted if it releases alongside Salaar. Hence, the makers seem to have decided to play it safe by deferring the release date.
It remains to be seen if Dunki team condemns these rumours or announces a new date.
