Allu Arjun, fondly called Bunny by his legion of admirers, became the first Telugu actor to be conferred with a National Award in the ‘Best Actor’ category. He achieved this rare distinction for his laudable performance as Pushparaj in Sukumar’s runaway hit ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. In the 9-decade history of Tollywood, no other actor has ever won this prestigious award ever since the tradition of National Awards was started by the Government of India in 1958. Earlier, it was Akkineni Nagarjuna who received the Special Jury award for his rewarding act in the divine hit Annammayya.
As soon the jury announced Allu Arjun’s name, Telugu film fraternity and cinema lovers lavished praises on the actor. Director Sukumar and the producers of Pushpa reached Bunny’s residence in Hyderabad and congratulated him on this occasion. Sukumar turned emotional and hugged Bunny for a while. They both were involved in a tight embrace and filled with emotion for getting due to their hard work.
The emotional video is currently going viral on social media platforms. Many of his well-wishers met Bunny at his residence to congratulate him. Stars like NTR, Chiranjeevi and others wished the award winners and commended Bunny for achieving the elite feat.
