Sunday, November 17, 2024

Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao embarked on a tour of three districts today, examining fields across the state. In Nalgonda, Suryapet, and Janagama districts, he witnessed the devastation caused by dried-up crops and met with distressed farmers. Expressing concern over the plight of farmers, KCR highlighted their grievances, attributing their suffering to the failure of the Congress government to provide necessary water for cultivation. KCR lamented the alarming increase in farmer suicides, with 200 reported in just 100 days, a situation he had not anticipated.

Reflecting on the achievements of his government, he recalled the uninterrupted electricity supply during the BRS regime and emphasized the recent efforts to restore and enhance the power infrastructure to support farmers. He cited the connection of Hyderabad to the National Power Grid and the establishment of the city as a power island as significant steps towards ensuring reliable electricity supply. However, he expressed disappointment over the neglect of Mission Bhagiratha, stating that despite its successful completion, the current administration’s indifference has necessitated the use of water tankers once again.
