Hyderabad: The Telangana opposition BRS is encountering a string of setbacks ahead of the Lok Sabha elections as leaders at various levels are defecting to the ruling Congress. The meeting between Bhadrachalam BRS MLA Vellam Venkatrao and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy holds significance amidst speculation that several MLAs will switch allegiance. However, their discussion has caused a stir within the Pink Party.
Venkatrao, accompanied by his family, visited CM Revanth Reddy’s residence this morning, joined by Minister Ponguleti Srinivasreddy. Rumors have been circulating that Venkatrao plans to join the Congress, and this meeting seems to confirm them. With the Congress already holding nine of the ten seats in the combined Khammam district from recent assembly elections, Venkatrao’s potential defection would eliminate BRS representation in Khammam.
