Hyderabad: T Prakash Goud, an MLA representing the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), is poised to make a significant move by joining the Congress party. In a recent development, he held discussions with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy regarding his decision. Goud’s transition to the Congress camp will contribute to the growing list of leaders who have switched allegiance from the BRS to the ruling Congress following last year’s Assembly elections.
Having secured victory from the Rajendranagar constituency for the fourth consecutive term in the recent elections, Prakash Goud has established a notable political track record. Since the constituency’s inception in the delimitation process of 2009, he has consistently emerged victorious, initially as a candidate of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Subsequently, he retained the seat under the TDP banner in 2014 before transitioning to the TRS (now BRS). His electoral success continued as he secured re-election under the BRS ticket in 2018 and maintained his stronghold in 2023.
