Following the footsteps of big-scale cinema created by SS Rajamouli, two films Brahmastra and Ponniyan Selvan-1 have been made on a huge scale but failed to get national wide success.
Post their theatrical run, these two films are now getting released on OTTs and each has its own approach for the digital premiers.
Both Brahmastra and Ponniyan Selvan-1 were released after huge promotions across India and released with huge pre-release buzz. However, they ended up as an above-average venture overall considering their worldwide run and business.
Even though both of these fared better in their native languages, the dubbed versions almost ended the distributors in huge losses but for the producers, they are in profit zones and are readying sequels already. Brahmastra has been heavily promoted by the male lead, Ranbir Kapoor with back-to-back promos and the digital partner Disney which was also the presenter of this movie is having more ads than any other release.
On the contrary, neither the team of Ponniya Selvan-1 nor its OTT partner Amazon Prime is doing any promotions regarding the release. Brahmastra will be out on Disney plus Hotstar while Ponniyan Selvan-1 will start streaming on Amazon Prime from the 4th of November.
Movie experts are also interested to see how the netizens would receive these two movies on their respective platforms.
