BJP MP R Krishnaiah Given A call For Telangana Bandh on Oct 14th Against Negligence on BC Reservations

Monday, December 8, 2025

National BC Welfare Association President and  BJP Rajya Sabha member R. Krishnaiah said that a Telangana bandh will be held on the 14th of this month with the support of all BC associations, condemning the government’s negligent attitude on the issue of BC reservations. He requested Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to support the ‘state bandh’ to protest the High Court’s verdict on 42 percent reservation for BCs in local bodies.

Former Chairman of the State BC Commission Vakulabharanam Krishnamohan Rao, Convener of the National BC Welfare Association Gujja Krishna, Telangana BC Welfare Association State Executive President Neelam Venkatesh, President of the Greater BC Welfare Association Neeradi Bhupesh Sagar, leaders of several BC associations C. Rajender, Jillapalli Anji, Pagilla Satish, Ananthayya, Rajkumar and others participated in this program.

Krishnaiah warned the parties that those who do not support the Telangana bandh will be declared BC traitors. As part of this, he spoke at a meeting held in Kacheguda on Saturday under the chairmanship of BC Welfare Association National Convener Gujja Krishna and said that a million march of BCs will be organized after the bandh and Hyderabad will be blocked. Representatives of various associations participated in this program. They expressed their support for the bandh.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Election Commission is consulting legal experts on what to do in the wake of the High Court’s verdict on 42 percent reservation for BCs in local body elections. The interim orders issued by the High Court clearly state that only GO 9, which provided 42 percent reservation for BCs in local body elections, and GOs 41 and 42 issued for the subsequent election process are being suspended.

The court also ruled that it is not interfering in the election process. It said that the remaining seats, not exceeding 50 percent reservation, can be considered under the open category on a proportional basis and elections can be held. However, doubts are again arising over the implementation of reservations.
