Bholaa Shankar – Trade shocked with dismal advance sales

Irrespective of the director and the genre he chooses, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s films usually take a big start at the box office because of his craze among Telugu moviegoers. After his strong comeback with Khaidi No 150, trade circles have been betting big on his films because they fetch strong openings in all territories. His previous outing Waltair Veerayya emerged as the biggest blockbuster in his career and reinstated his box office charisma.

Quite shockingly, his upcoming film Bholaa Shankar is carrying very little buzz everywhere. Even though Meher Ramesh has a poor track record due to a string of flops, many expected that Chiranjeevi’s stardom will bail out Bholaa Shankar. However, the advance sales paint a sorry picture because they are disconcertingly low with just three days to go before its release.

The pre-sales of Bholaa Shankar in North America are very dismal. Trade circles are shocked by the lukewarm response so far. The buzz in the Telugu States is also no different. It seems like the fact that the film is a remake and the underwhelming songs and teasers have impacted the buzz very much.

Going by the current trend of bookings, Bholaa Shankar is likely to take an ordinary start in all areas. Only solid word of mouth and unanimous reviews can change the fate of the film.

Bholaa Shankar is the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Vedhalam. Keerthi Suresh is playing Chiru’s sister and Tamannaah Bhatia is the female lead. AK Entertainments’ banner produced the film.
