Mahathi Swara Sagar is a familiar composer in Tollywood not because he delivered many chartbuster albums but because he is the son of ace music director Mani Sharma who ruled the roost for nearly two decades. Sagar made his debut in 2015 with Jaadugadu film. He composed tunes for nearly 10 films but managed to impress music lovers only on a few occasions with good albums like Chalo and Bheeshma.
Sagar bagged his first big-ticket film with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming mass entertainer Bholaa Shankar. It is well known that Mani Sharma orchestrated numerous gangbuster albums for Chiru. The duo is associated with many iconic hit songs which continue to mesmerize even today. Unfortunately, Mahathi Sagar couldn’t continue the legacy of his father. He disappointed with his substandard work for Bholaa Shankar album.
The three songs that are out so far failed to make any significant impact because of the monotonous tunes rendered by Sagar. There is no novelty in his work and all songs turned out to be outdated and underwhelming. While Jam Jam Jajjanaka offered some respite because of its foot-tapping tune, the other two songs hardly failed to grab the attention.
The title song Bholaa Mania couldn’t strike a chord with music lovers as it is a typical hero-centric introduction song with no great rendition. The latest release Milk Beauty song also disappointed the audience due to a lack of any enthusiasm in the tune. Though the songs are backed by rich visuals, the mediocre work by Sagar acted as a dampener.
So far, the album couldn’t generate any hype on the film. Sagar’s lackluster tunes failed to live up to the high expectations. The onus is now on Chiranjeevi to mesmerize the audience with his graceful dances on the big screen.
Bholaa Shankar is directed by Meher Ramesh and stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Keerthi Suresh and Sushanth in significant roles. The film is slated for release on August 11th.
