RX 100 hero Kartikeya seems to have ended his flop streak after five years. He hogged the limelight after his debut film RX 100 turned out to be a sleeper hit at the box office. He attempted different genres thereafter. But, couldn’t continue his success streak because his high hopes were dented by back-to-back debacles. Films like 90ML, Hippi, Guns 369, and Raja Vikramarka have ended as flops.
Now, his latest offering Bedurulanka 2012, a quirky comedy caper that released last Friday, is going to emerge as a profitable venture at the box office. Despite low reviews, the film fared very well in the first weekend in Telugu States.
By the end of three days, Bedurulanka grossed more than 5 Crores and surprised the trade circles. Because of glowing word of mouth, Bedurulanka registered impressive numbers on Saturday and Sunday. The collections on Sunday are on par with that of the first day.
The amusing comedy coupled with a fictional backdrop based on the doomsday concept has been getting good response from moviegoers. Despite facing competition from Varun Tej’s Gandeevadhari Arjuna, Bedurulanka performed well at the ticket windows. It will end as the second biggest hit for Kartikeya after Rx100.
Directed by Clax, Bedurulanka 2012 stars Neha Shetty as the female lead. Benny Muppaneni produced the film.
