Former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and four YSRCP MPs are reportedly considering leaving the party to join the TDP due to dissatisfaction with candidate selection. Balineni, a relative of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is in discussions with the MPs, including Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, Adala Prabhakara Reddy, and Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu.
The disagreement is primarily over candidate choices, with Balineni insisting on contesting from Ongole, his hometown. Sources suggest that Balineni is expected to meet with YS Jagan on Monday to discuss these issues before making a final decision. Despite Jagan’s initial suggestions, tensions arose over the placement of candidates, leading to potential defections from the YSRCP.
