Nandamuri Balakrishna has been developing a sequel to his cult classic Aditya 369 for several years. The original film is a milestone in his career, and the fans have been yearning for the sequel. At first, Balakrishna wished to collaborate once again with the original director, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, but owing to considerations of age and fitness, the project was put on hold.
It is reported that the story and script of Aditya 999 are prepared and at one point, Balakrishna even thought of directing the movie himself. But he changed his mind and didn’t opt to sit on the director’s seat. Recently, director Krish Jagarlamudi, who previously worked with Balakrishna in Gautamiputra Satakarni, became the favourite to direct this dream project.
While promoting his recent release Ghaati, Krish made it clear that any news regarding Aditya 999 officially would be from Balakrishna himself. He did not confirm Mokshagna’s entry, giving fans a thrill and something to guess about.
Producer Rajeev Reddy, who is a close associate Krish and also produced Ghaati, confirmed that negotiations for the project are in place but did not provide further information. As per trade sources, the project is said to be locked and gearing up for a formal announcement shortly.
With Balakrishna at the helm and the script in place, the audience is looking forward to knowing whether Aditya 999 will ultimately make the actor’s long-held wish come true to take the sequel to the silver screen.
