Nandamuri Balakrishna is ready to make a comeback in his massiest form so far with Akhanda 2 – Thaandavam, the eagerly-awaited sequel to his thundering success Akhanda. Directed again by Boyapati Sreenu, this is the fourth outing of the duo, who already have a spotless record of three successive blockbusters.
With the shooting already complete, attention has now turned to post-production, which is moving swiftly. The latest news confirms Balakrishna’s dubbing work for his role has been wrapped up, providing his fans with yet another reason to buzz. A behind-the-scenes pic of Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu taken at a dubbing studio has made the rounds online, marking the film’s final leg towards completion.
This clarification puts paid to any release delay speculation. Akhanda 2 – Thaandavam is officially booked for a September 25 release, and the movie is being prepped for a big pan-India launch. With a title like Thaandavam, aspirations are high for a hardcore, larger-than-life action extravaganza, and just suited to Balayya’s energetic screen presence.
But the thrill doesn’t end there. On the same day, Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s action-thriller gangster drama OG, directed by Sujeeth, is also hitting theaters. Both movies vying for the same window of release, the fans are preparing for what may be one of the highest box-office showdowns in recent Tollywood history.
While the initial reports indicated that one of the movies could shift its release date to avoid the conflict, the current dynamics and developments indicate that both movies are standing firm. With neither of the two teams relenting, Telugu viewers can get set for a huge cinematic battle this September.
