Tollywood senior Nandamuri Balakrishna has been creating buzz these days for his bold comments and controversial statements. After his disrespectful comments on the late veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the Legend actor has once again been in the headlines for his sexist comments on nurses.
Going into the details, during his popular celebrity talk show Unstoppable with NBK 2, a special episode with Pawan Kalyan, Balakrishna shared details about his past accident and said that he was severely injured and admitted to a hospital. He further explained how he was warned not to tell the hospital staff about the accident as it will land him in trouble. However, Balakrishna couldn’t resist the truth after seeing a beautiful nurse and therefore spilled the beans about the accident. He reportedly said on the show, “Dheenamma Bhalega undi akkadi nurse (That nurse was so hot).
Soon after this episode was aired, many netizens bashed the Nandamuri actor on social media for his sexist remarks. A section of nurses who didn’t take this well also demanded an apology from the Akhanda actor.
As per Pinkvilla, reacting to this, Balakrishna took to his official Facebook page and penned a heartfelt apology saying- ‘I strongly reject the baseless claims that I slandered the nursing profession. The meaning of what I said was completely changed. I hold nurses and their work in the highest esteem. At our hospital, Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, I have personally witnessed their excellent care. I regret if my words offended them.’
Prior to this, Balakrishna was heavily trolled for his disrespectful comments toward Akkineni Nageswara Rao and S. V Ranga Rao at the success part of his latest Sankranti blockbuster Veera Simha Reddy. Speaking at that event, Balakrishna said- ‘My father Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao had some friends Akkineni, thokkineni (speaking about ANR & SVR).’
This irked a controversy as the grandsons of ANR and the actors, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil even released a statement condemning the senior actor’s words.
