Sunday, December 22, 2024

The ASHA workers demanded that Sultan Bazaar ACP Shankar and CI Srinivasachari, who had behaved rudely and verbally towards them, should apologize to them. The ASHA workers warned that if the police did not apologize to them, the situation would be different.

The workers alleged that the police attacked them while they were peacefully protesting at the DME office in Koti demanding a fixed salary of Rs. 18,000 as promised by the Congress party during the assembly elections. Two ASHA workers who fainted are being treated at Osmania Hospital.

They said that the police dragged the Asha worker without listening to her pleas. They said that even though the Asha worker’s eyes were closed, the police did not care and forcibly lifted her into a van. Even though the Asha worker said that she was not well, they did not care and drove her around the city for an hour without taking her to the hospital.

Even though another Asha worker fainted, she was dragged.  They drove her around like dogs in the van but even though she was in a life-threatening condition, the police did not take her to the hospital. If anything happens to our Asha worker, they warned, the situation will be very serious.

Many wondered how police rudely behaved with women activists when the Assembly was in session. Asha workers warned that the more trouble the Chief Minister caused to them, the more he would suffer. They deplored that Revanth Reddy beat them up with the police and dragged them onto the road.

They are demanding that Revanth Reddy should fulfill the promises made to the Asha workers in his manifesto. Meanwhile, noted lawyer Rama Rao Immaneni has filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission against Sultanbazar CI Srinivasachari and ACP Shankar, who brutally assaulted and beat up peacefully protesting ASHA workers.

He strongly condemned the attacks on ASHA workers by both female and male police without the feeling of being sisters, demanding that the Congress government fulfill the promise made during the elections. BJP Telangana State Spokesperson and Media In-charge NV Subhash strongly condemned the police attack on ASHA workers who were protesting democratically at the Kothi DME office demanding that the Congress party fulfill the promise made.
