An arrest warrant has been issued against renowned actor Sonu Sood in connection with a fraud case. The Ludhiana Court in Punjab issued the order after Sood failed to appear for testimony. Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur from Ludhiana issued the warrant to the Oshiwara Police Station in Andheri West, Mumbai, instructing them to arrest Sood and present him before the court.
Advocate Rajesh Khanna from Ludhiana filed a case, alleging that a person named Mohit Sharma defrauded him of ₹10 lakh under the pretense of investing in a scheme named Rizika Coin. Sonu Sood has been named as a witness in this case.
Following the investigation, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Sonu Sood. The magistrate noted, “Despite multiple summons, Sonu Sood has failed to appear. He should be arrested immediately and brought before the court.” The case is scheduled for another hearing on the 10th of this month.
Sonu Sood, who has gained recognition as an actor in both Telugu and Bollywood films, is widely known for his philanthropic efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. On the film front, Sood recently made his directorial debut with Fateh, which has garnered positive reviews. The film, based on a cyber mafia storyline, features Jacqueline Fernandez, Seeratuddin Shah, and Vijay Raaz in pivotal roles. It was jointly produced by Zee Studios and Shakti Sagar Productions.
