Srikakulam: Andhra Pradesh Congress leader YS Sharmila announced her decision to address Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as “Jagananna garu” henceforth. This change in address stemmed from the ruling party leaders’ disapproval of the term “Jagan Reddy garu.” Sharmila, recently appointed as the state president of the Congress party, commenced a district tour on Tuesday, which included travelling in an RTC bus near Palasa. Accompanied by local Congress leaders, she engaged with passengers, discussing government schemes and concerns.
During the bus journey, Sharmila addressed the media, refuting allegations made by senior ruling party leader YV Subba Reddy that she hailed from a neighbouring state. Responding to this, Sharmila announced her intention to refer to YS Jagan as “Jagananna garu.” She challenged the ruling party to showcase any developmental work undertaken anywhere in Andhra Pradesh, stating her readiness, along with opposition leaders, media representatives, and intellectuals, to visit and inspect the progress at any time.
