Monday, December 8, 2025

The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a major leap towards technological development by entering into a strategic collaboration with global AI leader NVIDIA. The move is aimed at giving the state’s youth cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) expertise and providing a boost to innovation in various sectors.

Under the terms of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), NVIDIA will provide advanced training in AI to 10,000 engineering students in Andhra Pradesh. The company will also help establish an exclusive Artificial Intelligence University in the state capital Amaravati. The alliance is also expected to facilitate the establishment of 500 AI-driven startups, encouraging entrepreneurship and technological development in the state.

The deal was signed in the company of Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, NVIDIA representatives, and senior government officials, as part of Andhra Pradesh’s vision to become a national leader in AI research and development.

The partnership follows a successful meeting last October between Minister Nara Lokesh and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang in Mumbai, where the idea of an AI university was discussed and accepted. Work has continued since on making this idea a reality.

Through this scheme, students pursuing engineering in Andhra Pradesh will be exposed to the latest AI education under collaboration with leading private sector firms. The intention of the Andhra Pradesh government is obvious—it wishes to establish a thriving ecosystem that fosters talented AI professionals and innovation-led startups and put the state at the center of India’s AI revolution.
