The AP government has taken a decision to provide relief to various bills that have been pending for a long time. Small contractors will be given a big foothold in the payment of dues. On the orders of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Payyavula Keshav held a special meeting with senior officials of the Finance Department on Sunday.
On this occasion, they worked on the payment of bills. Speaking to the media on this occasion, Payyavula Keshav said that small contractors are being given a big foothold in the payment of bills. He said that the AP Finance Department will take up the payment of bills worth Rs. 2,000 crores.
Minister Payyavula Keshav clarified that the AP Finance Department will pay the bills of about 17,000 people. Bill payments will be made to 9000 small contractors and 8000 water-tree beneficiaries. The Minister suggested that these should be done by following the first-in, first-out method as much as possible.
He clarified that out of the total Rs. 2000 crores being released, 90 percent of the dues should be paid to small contractors and only 10 percent to large contractors. Payyavula explained that this process should be carried out on priority only for bills under one crore rupees.
He said that various bills that have been pending for a long time are being paid. Keshav revealed that bills will be paid for water-tree, path hole free roads, and NABARD works. He explained that along with irrigation maintenance dues, some amount of dues will be released for the Polavaram project.
He said that he is working under the guidance of CM Chandrababu to revive the state economy. He said that he is paying these despite all the difficulties. He said that this will help AP get back on track. Payyavula clarified that he has been paying bills that have been pending for three to four years.
