Anirudh Ravichander is riding a crest of success wave with his impactful contribution to big-budget entertainers. There is no exaggeration in saying that his incredible background score played a significant role in turning ordinary films into box office hits. Films like Vikram, Jailer, Jawan and Leo benefitted largely due to his impressive work.
Despite his outright domination in Kollywood, Telugu filmmakers were initially hesitant to rope in Anirudh due to the nativity factor. Though he made his Tollywood debut with Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi way back in 2017, Anirudh couldn’t make inroads here as he didn’t get big opportunities later on. However, he delivered his best for films like Gang Leader and Jersey. He lost a few opportunities as well.
After seven years, Anirudh finally made a big statement in Telugu with NTR’s Devara. His brilliant BGM and fantastic music for all four songs turned out to be a huge asset for Devara despite its mediocre storyline and haphazard narration. His spectacular rendition for crucial scenes helped Devara very well as it is on the way to emerge as a super hit in many territories.
The success of Devara has boosted Anirudh’s fame to the next level. Especially in Telugu, Anirudh bagged brownie points for his stupendous score. He is now in great demand in Tollywood. Up next, Anirudh will score music for Vijay Devarakonda’s film under Jersey director Gautham Tinnanuri. He also bagged Nani’s next film with Dasara fame Srikanth Odela.
It looks like this just the beginning of Anirudh Era in Tollywood.
