Andhra Pradesh Government Announces Subsidy for Farmers Affected by Floods

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a significant relief measure for farmers whose crops have been damaged by recent heavy rains and floods. Under the new initiative, seeds will be provided to affected farmers with an 80 percent subsidy. The state has experienced 48.6 percent above-normal rainfall in June and July, leading to extensive flooding.
As a result, 1,406 hectares of seedlings and 33,000 hectares of paddy crops have been submerged. The most severe damage has been reported in the districts of Godavari, Eluru, Kakinada, and Anakapalli.
In other news, Veerapandian has been appointed as the Vice Chairman and Managing Director (VCMD) of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Department. Previously the CEO of SERP, Veerapandian will assume additional responsibilities in his new role. Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar has issued an official order confirming this appointment.
