Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has this trend of scoring huge duds in between blockbusters and the trend continues with Amigos as well. He scored a massive hit with Bimbisara and now with Amigos he faced a huge flop. Amigos, a take on doppelgangers had a nice setup but the flaws in execution made it a mediocre watch.
Amigos did a pre-release business of around Rs. 15 Crores but the film collected Rs. 2 Crores on its first day and Rs. 4 Crores by the weekend. Already, the film sees a huge drop and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Amigos will end up as a huge disaster in the career of Kalyan Ram with the distributors set to lose more than 50 percent of their investment. It is not a hat-trick for Mythri Movie Makers which scored back-to-back hits with Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya.
