Icon Star Allu Arjun’s much-anticipated film, Pushpa 2 has stormed the box office to win over audience hearts with high voltage narration and electrifying action. As directed by Sukumar, the movie has also become a full-fledged cultural phenomenon because it saw record-breaking houseful crowd in theatres. In the meanwhile, the very moment of jubilation following its release became a great sorrow with what happened at an exclusive premiere.
On Wednesday night, Pushpa 2 had a grand premiere at the iconic Sandhya 70MM theater in RTC Cross Roads, Hyderabad. Allu Arjun was present with his family for the screening, which excited his fans. The gathering took a tragic turn when an overwhelming crowd surged forward to catch a glimpse of the superstar, resulting in a stampede. In the chaos, a fan named Revathi was killed whereas her young son had injuries. He was sent to a hospital immediately.
Reacting to the tragic incident, Allu Arjun said that it was an unbearable tragedy for him to lose a fan who came to watch his movie. “I make movies to make people happy and happy. Such incidents are a cause of immense pain to me. I request all of you to take proper precautions during such events. Safety is the most important thing,” he said.
As a gesture of compassion, Allu Arjun announced financial assistance of ₹25 lakhs for the bereaved family of Revathi. He also promised to support the family further with all the help from the Pushpa 2 team. The team has decided to cancel all the planned success celebrations in the wake of the loss.
This incident has become a poignant reminder for crowd management and safety measures in public events. Though Pushpa 2 is creating history, Allu Arjun and his team are really hurt due to this tragic accident. Actor extended his deepest condolences to the family of Revathi and mentioned that strict safety measures are necessary to avoid such events.
