Allu Arjun celebrates the 20th anniversary of his cult-classic film ‘Arya’ with a special event in Hyderabad. The star-studded event, held on May 7, 2024, marks two decades since the release of the iconic film. The event brought together the cast and crew to rejoice in the film’s timeless impact.
The actor attended the event in a stylish dapper look, as usual, with an all-black ensemble. Allu Arjun opted for a black shirt and black cargo pants, paired with shoes.
During the event, the Pushpa actor said, “Arya is the single biggest moment in my life that changed my life forever.” Arjun recalled the old times, shared one event, and said, “During those days, if a film runs for ten weeks, equating to 70 days, it is considered an average film. Sukumar Garu and I attended the first show of ‘Arya’ on the release day. The theater was only 40% full, but we were confident that the film would slowly pick up and gradually gain popularity. But the reports suggested that it was a 10-week film. Sukumar and I were disappointed.”
The actor also added, “Allu Arvind Garu stated that a 10-week run is a significant accomplishment given that the majority of the cast and crew were newcomers. I got frustrated and said to my father that Arya would run for 125 days, if not, I would change my name. As I predicted, I received a shield from Chiranjeevi Garu for 125 days.”
Speaking more about Arya, helmed by Maverick director Sukumar, the film featured Allu Arjun and Anuradha Mehta as the main leads. Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad, at the helm of music direction, escalated the film to another level and gave it a fresh vibe with his songs.
