God of Masses Nandamuri Bala Krishna and dynamic director Boyapati Sreenu are reuniting for the fourth time after delivering blockbuster hits like Simha, Legend, and Akhanda. Now, the successful duo is set to return with an exciting sequel to Akhanda, titled ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam.’
Following the film announcement some time ago, today, the makers announced an interesting update, revealing that the film will be hitting theaters for Dussehra in 2025. Making it an official announcement, they shared the official release date with a new poster, unveiling that the film will be released on September 25, 2025.
The poster showcases Bala Krishna’s hand, holding a blood-soaked trishul, adorned with a Rudraksha mala. Along with the poster, they captioned, “The protector of Dharma will rage a powerful battle. #Akhanda2 – Thaandavam shoot begins. Grand release worldwide for Dussehra on SEPTEMBER 25th, 2025.”
The film’s shooting commenced today at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, with an intense action sequence. Like its prequel, Akhanda 2 will have devotional elements. This high-budget spectacle is produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the prestigious production house of 14 Reels Entertainments. SS Thaman is composing the musical score for this action entertainer, adding another layer to the film’s high-octane experience.
Reports suggest that there are two female leads, with Pragya Jaiswal being one of them. Additional details about the film’s cast and crew are expected to be revealed soon.
