Nandamuri Balakrishna is all geared up to return with a bang on the silver screen with Akhanda 2, the eagerly awaited sequel of the blockbuster action drama Akhanda. Directed by mass director Boyapati Srinu, the sequel is being conceived as a high-octane action entertainer that will take the legacy of the first part to new heights.
Akhanda 2’s shoot has already commenced, with a big schedule completed recently in the picturesque locations of the Godavari belt. The look and feel of this schedule are expected to lend a rich regional flavour and cinematic texture to the film.
Director Boyapati Srinu is presently in Georgia, scouting for visually appealing locations for a crucial shooting schedule. Sources say that the production unit is going to shoot some crucial sequences in Georgia with Balakrishna and other heroine-centric actors. If things fall into place, the team will leave for Georgia in the first week of May.
In this sequel, Balakrishna will again play the mighty avatar of an Aghori — a role that found a chord with audiences in the first part. Expectations are high as the star is well-known for delivering high-tension performances, especially in mass-action roles.
Actress Samyuktha Menon joins the cast as the heroine, and Aadhi Pinisetty features in a strong negative role, adding more depth to the story. Music director maestro Thaman is composing the music, which will be one of the biggest draws for the movie. Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are producing Akhanda 2 under the prestigious 14 Reels Plus banner.
With a power-house combination of Balakrishna, Boyapati Srinu, and Thaman, Akhanda 2 is becoming one of the biggest mass entertainers of Telugu cinema.
