The theatrical trailer of Akkineni Akhil’s much-awaited spy thriller ‘Agent’ is out this Tuesday evening during the grand pre-release event in Kakinada and it promises a blazing action feast for moviegoers on April 28th. AK Entertainment banner has bankrolled the film on a mammoth budget.
Playing out at just over two minutes, the trailer has Akhil coming out all guns blazing in an explosive avatar. Director Surender Reddy seems to have presented the Akkineni lad in a never-before-seen badass role with a razor-sharp screenplay amidst blistering action episodes. Akhil’s phenomenal transformation is undoubtedly the biggest takeaway for this trailer which hints that Agent is going to be a full-on commercial potboiler with racy narration. His body language, mannerisms, and dialogue delivery in this film seem to be a complete departure from what he essayed so far in his career. Malayalam Superstar Mammootty played a significant role in this thriller.
The trailer opens with some fleeting visuals in which Akhil flexes his muscles and performs daring stunts in action episodes. Then, we are introduced to the main antagonist Dino Morea, the powerhouse of a criminal network who keeps the officers of RAW on their tenterhooks. Akhil is inducted into the mission led by Mamooty to counter the criminal gang and what follows from then is a wild ride punctuated with daredevil action episodes involving car chases and gun fights. The trailer ends on a high note with a goosebump-inducing sequence featuring Akhil in a swashbuckling get-up as he blazes two heavy-duty weapons with some mad and zany screen presence. You blink and miss the female lead Sakshi Vaidya in this trailer.
Technically, the trailer is amplified by the scintillating background score rendered by Hip Hop Thamizha and the superlative cinematography of Rasool Ellore. The dialogues are very effective and the production values are impressive as every frame appeared quite rich. All in all, the trailer of Agent ticks all boxes that fit into a full-length commercial package. It has got all the trappings to emerge as a Summer hit if Surender Reddy makes it as a perfect ride with his trademark style of narration.
