‘Adipurush’ gets a rare honour on International pedestal

Mythological behemoth Adipurush, a retelling of the epic saga Ramayana featuring handsome hunk Prabhas as Lord Rama and Kriti Sanon as Sita, is set to unspool in theatres worldwide on June 16th. The film has garnered widespread attention ever since its launch because of the mammoth budget and star-studded cast. National award-winning director Om Raut is behind this visual extravaganza.

In what can be termed as a huge and rare honour for an Indian film, Adipurush is set to have an International premiere in New York, USA on June 13th at the renowned Tribeca Film Festival which happens from 7th – 18th June this year. The makers of Adipurush are absolutely thrilled with the decision of the jury to select this much-anticipated Indian epic as one of the films to be screened at the festival.

In a press release, Prabhas said “I am honored that Adipurush will have its World Premiere At The Tribeca Festival, New York. Director Om Raut said, ‘ Beyond Excited and Honored! Adipurush, the epic saga of courage and devotion, is set to make its world premiere at the prestigious #TribecaFestival on the 13th of June in New York.’ He thanked his whole team for their immense efforts and also appreciated the jury.

This is indeed a masterstroke from team Adipurush to go for an early international premiere even before the film’s release worldwide. If the film manages to garner unanimous reports after its screening at this film festival, it will definitely boost the theatrical prospects in all territories.


Adipurush has Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in the lead roles. The film is directed by Om Raut and produced by Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar of T-Series, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles, in association with Vamsi and Pramod of UV Creations.
