Popular Telugu character actress Hema, who was an accused in the Bengaluru rave party busted last month, has reportedly been arrested by Central Crime Branch police on Monday after she was summoned for deposition following positive drug results in her blood samples which were taken for tests.
As per latest reports, Hema was produced in the Anekal fourth magistrate court yesterday and was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Earlier on the day, Hema appeared before the CCB police in a burqa to conceal her identity from the media and the public. In her interrogation, Hema came up with evasive answers regarding the rave party held in a farm house in the outskirts of Bengaluru on May 19th. She initially denied the allegations levelled on her and refused to accept the crime.
After grilling Hema for a few hours, the CCB police took her into custody and produced before the court yesterday evening. The sensational rave party, which saw a participation of more than 100 people in the pretext of a birthday party celebration, made headlines when the Bengaluru police raided the farm house and arrested the organisers and several participants.
Out of over enthusiasm, Hema immediately released a video from the same location and stated that she was chilling in Hyderabad. She reportedly went to the party with another name and tried pulling strings to come clean in this case. But, the CCB police didn’t fall for Hema’s cheap tricks and strictly warned her to comply with the law.
Meanwhile, 86 of the 103 participants in this party tested positive for drugs. The organisers were nabbed on the day of raid and several grams of banned narcotics were recovered from them.
