A big litmus test for Thaman

A big litmus test awaits ace music composer SS Thaman this week. Of late, he has been facing a lot of criticism because his recent works didn’t cut the mustard. Neither background score nor songs from big-ticket films like Bro, Skanda, and Bhagavanth Kesari managed to impress moviegoers. Moreover, he received flak from all quarters for rehashing tunes and giving outdated music.

Now, he is under immense pressure to deliver big with the upcoming two high-profile films, Guntur Kaaram and Game Changer. Coincidentally, the first singles from both these highly anticipated films are going to be out this week.

‘Dum Masala’ from Guntur Kaaram will be unveiled on this 7th and ‘Jaragandi’ from Game Changer is likely to be released before Diwali. Surprisingly, both these songs got leaked and evoked a mixed response. Fans are eagerly waiting for the full version of these songs.

Thaman will need to come up with at least above-average stuff to put negativity at bay or else he will face the music from moviegoers. Also, he should ensure that the background score for both films doesn’t fall short of expectations.

Besides these two biggies, Thaman is also working on Pawan Kalyan’s OG and Ravi Teja’s film with Gopichand Malineni.

He needs to deliver a chartbuster album to keep his chances alive in Tollywood.
