Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honoured with a place in the World Book of Records (Gold Edition), becoming the first actor from the Indian film industry to receive this recognition. The award celebrates his 50-year-long career in cinema, during which he continues to perform as a leading hero. The ceremony was held in Hyderabad on Saturday, attended by Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, Andhra Pradesh Minister Naralokesh, and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, AP Minister Nara Lokesh praised Balakrishna’s contributions, saying, “If anyone can make history and rewrite it, it is Balakrishna Babu. He has earned a special place not only in films but also in politics. Balakrishna remains young and energetic, has acted in 110 films, and one of his movies ran for 1,000 days. He has excelled across genres—historical, folk, spiritual, and science fiction. His simplicity and generosity make him beloved in the industry, and his humanitarian work at Basavatarakam Hospital is exemplary.”
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay congratulated the actor, calling him a source of pride for the Telugu community. “Balakrishna is 65 but looks like a 25-year-old. Staying a hero in cinema for 50 years is a remarkable achievement. He brought NTR’s life story to the screen with brilliance and has saved countless lives through Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital. I wish him another 35 years of continued success and energy,” he added.
