Producers, Exhibitors Demand Immediate Elections to Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce

Friday, December 5, 2025
A group of producers and exhibitors has called for the immediate conduct of elections to the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC), asserting that extending the current leadership’s term beyond this month is a violation of rules.
With the tenure of the present executive committee nearing its end, concerns have been raised over reported attempts to retain the current president and secretary without elections. Terming this move as unlawful, former TFCC secretary and producer Ashok Kumar criticized the justification provided by some members that having familiar faces in leadership would ease coordination with the government.
Ashok Kumar questioned the lack of internal unity in the Chamber and warned that the actions of a few individuals were damaging its credibility. “If this is the situation within the Chamber, how can we take the industry’s concerns to the government with any authority?” he asked.
He urged that elections be held in accordance with the Chamber’s regulations to ensure transparency and proper representation. The comments were made during a press meet held at the TFCC premises, which was also attended by former Telangana Exhibitors Association president Vijayender Reddy and others.
