The socio-fantasy film Vishwambhara, starring megastar Chiranjeevi and directed by Mallidi Vassishta, is nearing the end of its production. Director Vassishta confirmed that the shoot is complete except for one song, and the team is currently focused on intensive post-production work, particularly involving visual effects. The film, produced by UV Creations, was originally scheduled for release in January but faced delays due to various production-related factors.
Amid speculation about the film’s status, especially after Chiranjeevi began work on director Anil Ravipudi’s project, Vassishta provided clarity in a recent interview. He revealed that Vishwambhara features 4,676 VFX shots, with several top global visual effects companies working on the film. “We are working tirelessly to deliver a world-class cinematic experience. The VFX-driven sequences are designed to transport the audience into the world of Vishwambhara,” he said.
Sets as Story Elements, Visuals as Narrative Strength
The director noted that 16 elaborate sets were constructed for the film, each crafted to reflect natural environments and serve as integral components of the story. “These sets are not just backdrops but are treated as characters within the narrative. The film is deeply connected to the five elements of nature, through which the protagonist journeys. Mythology, fantasy, and action are seamlessly woven into the story,” Vassishta explained.
He further stated that the extended post-production schedule was intentional, as the team wanted to ensure the highest quality of CG and VFX. “We are not willing to compromise. The computer-generated visuals are being refined to bring an entirely new world to the screen. Our hero was thrilled after watching some of the completed VFX shots,” he added.
The film features Trisha as the female lead, alongside Aashika Ranganath, Surbhi, and Isha Chawla in key roles. The official release date will be announced once post-production is finalised.
