NTR starrer Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, received mixed reactions from all sections of audience because of lack of strong drama and emotional connect in the narrative. Moreover, Koratala Siva’s substandard writing and poor narration received huge criticism after the film’s release on OTT platforms.
Coming to the box office performance, NTR’s stardom and his impressive performance in dual roles managed to secure decent revenues and ended the film as an above average grosser for its buyers. As the first part didn’t achieve the desired response and also the fact that the climax didn’t excite the viewers much to make them wait for the next part, there have been rumours that NTR isn’t interested to work on the sequel in the near future.
As NTR is currently busy with the shooting of his upcoming films, there is very little chance for the second part to go on floors immediately. But, Koratala is optimistic that NTR will keep his promise and work on the sequel very soon.
Had the first part received a thumping response, NTR could have immediately shown interest on the sequel. At least, Koratala could have gained opportunities to work with other stars and he might have moved on to some other project in the gap. However, that is not the case.
Koratala has no other option but to wait patiently for NTR to start the sequel at one point in future. So, he has reportedly started working on the script work of the second part.
At present, no star hero can give dates to Koratala Siva due to their busy commitments. Also, no mid tier hero is ready to work with Koratala immediately. So, there is no other option for Koratala but to wait for NTR. He is said to be working with his team of writers to rectify the flaws in the first part and come up with a better script for the second part.
