Lucky Bhaskar effect : Meenakshi’s big no to such roles again

Thursday, December 19, 2024

Happening beauty Meenakshi Chaudhary finally scored the much needed success with the recent blockbuster hit ‘Lucky Bhaskar’. This is her first major break after a while since she made her debut in Tollywood. The Dulquer Salmaan starrer saw her in the role of a middle class wife as a mother of a kid. Though she bagged laurels for her matured performance, it seems like Meenakshi decided not to portray such roles in future. It seems a bit odd but she has a valid reason though.

Usually, young and upcoming heroines initially develop a penchant for glamorous roles to push her career to bigger heights. They know that the secret to climb up the ladder in film industry is to appear in attractive roles which have scope for glamorous songs and romantic scenes with the lead protagonists. Most of the current top-league heroines adopted a similar strategy in the starting of their careers and carved out a niche for themselves.
Surprisingly, Meenakshi Chaudhary accepted the role of a mother character in Lucky Bhaskar and managed to impress audience and critics alike. But, she realised that acting in such roles is fraught with the risk of impacting her future offers as filmmakers tend to ignore her for glamorous roles. This is because of the general perception that moviegoers usually won’t encourage young heroines who appeared in de-glam roles suddenly in ultra glamorous roles.
Meenakshi Chaudhary is said to have turned extra cautious after her near and dear have warned her not to appear in de-glam roles in the early stages of her career. She is now looking only to portray glamorous roles in big-ticket films.
Up next, Meenakshi will be seen as one of the female leads in Victory Venkatesh’s fun-filled family drama Sankranti ki Vastunnam. She will appear in a stylish role as a cop and there will be humour aplenty and glam show for this character.
